Many people in this career begin as assistants and work their way up through managing editor positions, gaining the experience needed to become an editor in chief along the way.

What does an editor in chief do?

An Editor in Chief is responsible for overseeing the editorial content and direction of a publication, such as a magazine, newspaper, or online media outlet. They manage the editorial team, establish editorial policies, and make final decisions on what gets published.
