Summary:

Provost & Pritchard (P&P) is seeking a motivated professional to join our growing Public Affairs team. P&P Public Affairs partners with public and private organizations to tell their stories - engaging key stakeholders to build trust, develop sustainable behavior, and deliver value to agencies and the public. In this role, you will work alongside communities to meet today's challenges, leading agriculture and surrounding regions to a more sustainable future.


The right person will understand the role that storytelling, public communications, and stakeholder engagement plays in achieving the objectives of an organization's programs and initiatives. The role will include developing and leading communications and engagement strategies that inform, educate, and inspire action. The ideal candidate will be able to work directly with clients to manage projects from concept through execution, and will develop, lead, and execute tailored outreach and engagement strategies. Experience working with the agricultural community, local municipalities or agencies is a plus.


Duties:

    • Lead development and implementation of comprehensive strategic public communications and engagement plans to further agencies' organizational and policy objectives.
    • Direct and guide campaign research to identify effective strategies, messaging, and channels for target audiences.
    • Design and oversee the execution of campaign tactics that inform, educate, and foster sustainable behavior.
    • Manage the development, collection, and distribution of print and digital communications content for diverse audiences, including, not limited to, members of the public, governmental agencies, elected officials, non-governmental organizations, and environmental justice groups, ensuring quality and consistency.
    • Set performance metrics and monitor results to measure and refine campaign effectiveness.
    • Manage the development, collection, and distribution of materials and presentations to be used in outreach programs and events; represent clients and present to small and large audiences as needed.
    • Oversee planning and facilitation of community and stakeholder engagement events, coordinating with vendors, community partners, and agencies to ensure successful outcomes.
    • Manage and maintain agencies' online presence across websites and social media channels to deliver timely, consistent, and impactful messaging to the public and key stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • BA/BS in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, political science, English, or demonstrated experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
    • Five years of experience in community outreach, public relations, public affairs and media relations or similar.
    • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite Software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), WordPress website editor, and ConstantContact email marketing.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are required. Prior work experience in Office 365 environment required.
    • Knowledge of public communications, stakeholder engagement, and public relations best practices.
    • Excellent listening and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
