Description

URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a Data Integrations Lead, to be the senior hands-on technical leader for URM's enterprise integrations. This role designs, builds, reviews, and supports complex integrations across applications, data platforms, trading partners, messaging platforms, and cloud services. The role provides technical direction for Boomi, EDI, Pub/Sub models, Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, message bus patterns, DB2, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and Prefect while mentoring integration developers and improving operational reliability.


Technical Leadership:

  • Lead design, build, testing, deployment, and support of complex integrations across enterprise systems and platforms.
  • Define reusable technical patterns for Boomi, Logic Apps, APIs, EDI, files, databases, Pub/Sub events, message bus processing, error handling, logging, monitoring, and retries.
  • Review integration design and code for security, performance, maintainability, observability, and alignment with architecture standards.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex integration defects, production incidents, performance issues, and root-cause analysis.

Platform Engineering:

  • Build and support integrations using Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Azure Logic Apps, message bus services, APIs, SQL, EDI tools, Python, Prefect, and event-driven services.
  • Create reusable templates, deployment patterns, runbooks, test plans, data mappings, and documentation for integration delivery.
  • Improve monitoring and alerting to detect failures, data quality issues, latency, retries, and downstream impact.
  • Support integration patterns that feed Snowflake, DB2, enterprise applications, vendor systems, and business processes.

Collaboration and Mentorship:

  • Partner with analysts, application owners, data teams, vendors, and architecture resources to clarify requirements and technical constraints.
  • Translate business integration needs into technical specifications, data mappings, interface contracts, and support procedures.
  • Mentor integration developers through design reviews, peer reviews, troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or modernize existing integrations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of hands-on experience in enterprise integration, data integration, EDI, API development, data engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Boomi or comparable integration platforms.
  • Strong experience with Azure Integration Services, Azure Logic Apps, message bus approaches, and API-based integration.
  • Strong EDI experience includes transaction processing, mappings, partner onboarding, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of Publish/Subscribe models, event-driven systems, queues, message bus architecture, retries, and asynchronous processing.
  • Strong SQL and database integration experience with DB2, Snowflake, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with automation, orchestration, Prefect, dbt concepts, or data pipeline workflows.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation, runbooks, data mappings, and support procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Functions, API Management, Storage, Key Vault, or related Azure services.
  • Experience with IBM i/AS400, DB2 for i, Snowflake, ERP, WMS, POS, vendor, or retail distribution integrations.
  • Experience with integration testing, DevOps practices, source control, CI/CD, and automated deployment patterns.
  • Experience mentoring developers or acting as a technical lead.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted development to improve integration design, code generation, testing, and documentation.
