Key Responsibilities:

Student recruitment & talent marketing

Position BLG as an employer of choice for law students and emerging legal professionals by:

  • Developing and executing national and regional student recruitment marketing and communications strategies in partnership with Talent
  • Creating content that showcases BLG's culture, career opportunities and values
  • Developing and executing content for social media channels, including Instagram and LinkedIn, to support student recruitment and employer branding
  • Coordinating recruitment communications across all offices to ensure a consistent national brand
  • Supporting law school events, career fairs and recruitment initiatives
  • Monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve engagement and reach

EDI communications and campaigns

Support and communicate BLG's equity, diversity and inclusion commitments by:

  • Developing and executing EDI marketing and communications strategies in partnership with Talent (responsible for EDI)
  • Managing the annual EDI communications calendar, including awareness dates and firm initiatives
  • Creating content for internal and external channels, including social media, web and intranet
  • Ensuring content reflects inclusive language and culturally informed communications practice
  • Supporting EDI events and initiatives as required

Brand programs & community engagement

Support BLG's reputation through communications for alumni, community, ESG and The BLG Foundation programs by:

  • Developing and executing alumni communications, including newsletters, profiles, web content and social media and other channels
  • Promoting community involvement, charitable initiatives and The BLG Foundation activities through engaging content
  • Supporting rankings and awards communications in partnership with the Rankings & Awards Manager.
  • Collaborating with BD and regional teams to identify relevant brand storytelling opportunities that enhance firm positioning
  • Supporting ESG reporting and related program events and initiatives as required
  • Leading the external content strategy for all five regional office digital screens - setting content themes, standards and cadence for all marketing and communications content that appears on firm screens, working with the Internal Communications team on the broader screen program

Key Competencies:

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, content marketing, employer branding or related fields
  • Experience in professional services or a complex, matrixed organization; experience with student recruitment marketing or employer branding; experience with EDI communications
  • Genuine interest in culture, talent and community and an instinct for inclusive, values-aligned storytelling.
  • Proven ability to develop compelling communications for student, talent and community audiences.
  • Superior writing, editing and storytelling skills across multiple formats.
  • Experience developing, publishing and optimizing content for social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram, including short-form storytelling, audience engagement and performance analysis.
  • Strong project coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media management tools.
  • Proactive and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • French language proficiency strongly preferred.

Preferred Job Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Google Analytics 4 certification; Hootsuite or social media marketing certification
  • Experience producing ESG reports or community impact communications.
  • Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Dynamics 365 or similar).
  • Knowledge of Canadian Press style.

  • elaborant et mettant en uvre des strategies nationales et regionales de marketing et de communication en collaboration avec l'equipe Talents;
  • gerant le calendrier annuel des communications relatives a l'EDI, y compris les dates consacrees a la sensibilisation et aux initiatives du cabinet;
  • creant du contenu pour les canaux internes et externes, notamment les reseaux sociaux, le site Web et l'intranet;
  • veillant a ce que le contenu utilise un langage inclusif et reflete des pratiques de communication qui tiennent compte des specificites culturelles;

  • redigeant les communications destinees aux ex-membres, notamment des infolettres, des portraits, du contenu Web et des publications sur les reseaux sociaux et d'autres canaux;
  • promouvant l'engagement communautaire, les initiatives caritatives et les activites de la Fondation BLG avec du contenu accrocheur;
  • contribuant aux communications relatives aux classements et aux prix, en collaboration avec la gestionnaire, Classements et prix;
  • collaborant avec le service Developpement des affaires et des equipes regionales afin de cibler les occasions de diffuser des communications narratives qui renforcent le positionnement du cabinet;
  • contribuant a la production de rapports ESG et aux evenements et initiatives connexes, selon les besoins;
  • dirigeant la strategie de diffusion du contenu lie au marketing et aux communications sur les ecrans des cinq bureaux: definir les themes, les normes et la frequence de diffusion en collaboration avec l'equipe responsable des communications internes.

Principales exigences

  • Baccalaureat en communications, marketing, relations publiques, journalisme ou autre domaine pertinent
  • De 3 a 5 ans d'experience en marketing standard/de contenu, communication, strategie de marque d'employeur, ou un autre domaine pertinent
  • Experience dans le domaine des services professionnels ou au sein d'une organisation complexe a structure matricielle; experience en marketing lie au recrutement etudiant; experience en communications EDI
