Job description

Edgerton Contractors, a construction, and excavation company that specializes in earthwork, underground utilities, and design assist projects is hiring a Field Safety Coordinator. The Field Safety Coordinator participates in implementing the safety program in the field during construction and reports directly to the Safety Director.

This is a perfect position for a recent college grad!

Safety Culture:

  • Adopts and participates in the further development of Edgerton's safety culture.
  • Participates in the development of Edgerton's overall safety program, process, and people.
  • Adopts the safety minded culture that drives safe performance through the proactive approach to safety, where incidents are not acceptable norms.
  • Participates in the awareness, education, and training curriculum for our employees as part of our overall safety program.
  • Participates in formulating work plans to mitigate incidents from occurring.
  • Impactful communication, awareness training, and project oversight to help mitigate overall incidents from occurring.
  • Operations:
  • Works collaboratively with operations, field staff, and safety staff in support of safe operations for ongoing and future work. Problem solver in the field, relating to safety hazards and safety compliance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to other Edgerton work locations.

Other Duties:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifiications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or BCSP credentials and 5 years of experience in construction or safety in the general industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements related to civil construction.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Positive/ Can Do attitude
