POSITION: Litigation Paralegal

LOCATION: Wilmington, DE

SUMMARY: Prominent multinational law firm seeks an experienced litigation paralegal to join the firm's Wilmington office. The firm is devoted to the resolution of complex commercial disputes. The firm serves clients in significant, disputed matters that involve substantial dollar or business exposures, cutting-edge legal issues or significant policy questions. The partners, consultants, and associates of the firm have been trained at the finest law schools and business schools in the country.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the preparation and court filing of pleadings and other court papers, as needed
  • Assist with preparation for interviews, depositions, hearings, trials and/or client meetings
  • Proofread briefs, memoranda of law, opinions and other documents
  • Perform cross-reference and defined terms checks, as needed
  • Pull cases, shepardize briefs and assist with and coordinate cite-checking
  • Able to perform non-legal research using various research tools, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR and other systems
  • Update attorney and case/deal team binders
  • Able to assist partners, associates and other legal assistants across practice areas and different departments
  • Manage collection, review and production of client data; act as liaison with attorneys, consultants and opposing counsel
  • Ensure case files are complete and docketing deadlines are maintained at all times
  • Perform all functions required to handle in-house productions via cloud based document review Software
  • Assist attorneys with gathering facts, constructing case timelines, preparing witness interview and deposition materials, and drafting privilege logs
  • Prepare and coordinate transmittal of case materials to experts
  • Assist with filings, preparation for oral arguments and hearings, and motion practice
  • Prepare and assist at trial; manage trial exhibits and trial software
  • Manage budget and provide cost analysis of file maintenance, document review and production of deposition and trial materials

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
  • Proficiency in Relativity, Concordance, or similar litigation records management, document review, or trial presentations software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Superior planning, organizational, interpersonal and oral communication including providing group presentations
  • Ability to work on the development of a project with clearly defined deadlines and tasks
  • Frequent (paid) overtime and some travel required
