Job description

JOB SUMMARY

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning

environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential

through arts integration.


REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:​ Bachelor's Degree required

LICENSE:​ Must hold a valid Indiana State Teacher's License in Elementary and/or Middle School

Education (K-8). Must be deemed Highly Qualified in accordance with the Indiana Department of

Education


EXPERIENCE:​ Required experience includes:

● Must have excellent organization and communication skills while being flexible

● Possess no excuses philosophy

● Exceptional management skills

● Must be able to adapt material to meet needs of diverse learners

● Work cooperatively and effectively with other professional staff

● Must have a working knowledge of balanced literacy, state standards, general education

curriculum, and IPS curriculum/instruction framework.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Demonstrate a high level of effectiveness.

● Collaborate with staff members.

● Prepare rigorous, engaging lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual

needs of all students including arts integration.

● Demonstrate use of scientifically-based research best practice instructional strategies.

● Post assignments and input real-time data on Google Classroom.

● Use a variety of instructional methods and materials.

● Administer and analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions that promotes

student growth.

● Encourage parent involvement in the educational process.

● Resolves problems in a timely manner.

● Participate in all staff and curriculum development workshops and arts performances that

are sometimes held during the summer and/or outside of the regular instructional day.

● Provides a positive, calm and supportive classroom environment which fosters social and

emotional growth of all students.
