Job description

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our staff and work in an amazing school! ***Colorado State Special Services Provider OR State Teacher's License required**

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:
  • ***Colorado State Special Services Provider OR State Teacher's License required**
  • Master's Degree in Special Education
  • Experience working with 3-5 years old
  • Must have CDE ECSE (Early Childhood Special Educator) license (attach with resume)

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
  • working with preschool students with severe needs, ages 3-5.
  • Anticipate a maximum caseload of 15, and students attend Mon-Thu and staff work Friday planning and collaborating.
  • Communicate with other staff and family members about each student's progress and struggles
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
  • Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
  • Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
  • Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress
  • Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
  • Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
  • Create a safe, productive classroom environment
