Job description

Position Summary
ECS is seeking a Database Engineer - Senior to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) ENOCS program. In this role, the selected candidate will provide expert-level database architecture, design, and administration services to ensure the reliability and efficiency of ARNG Enterprise systems. The Database Engineer will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing secure and scalable database solutions, aligning with DoD and Army standards. This position plays a critical role in enhancing enterprise applications and mission systems, ensuring data integrity, and supporting the overall mission of the ARNG.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-availability database solutions for ARNG Enterprise systems.
  • Develop data models, schemas, and storage structures to support efficient data access and system performance.
  • Lead the optimization of database performance through advanced tuning strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of database security controls and ensure compliance with RMF, STIG, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Manage backup and recovery operations and support disaster recovery planning.
  • Coordinate database integration, migration, and modernization efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting and capacity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and Army standards in all database-related activities.
  • Support enterprise data management initiatives through expert technical guidance.

Required Qualifications
  • Clearance: Secret Eligible required
  • S. Citizenship required
  • DoD 8140.03 Compliance: DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Work Role 421-Database Administrator at the Intermediate proficiency level
  • Certifications (one or more required): Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, SSCP
  • Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in database engineering, architecture, and administration within DoD or Federal IT environments
  • Proven experience in designing and optimizing secure, scalable database solutions for enterprise applications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop data models, schemas, and performance tuning strategies
  • Experience in administering database platforms and managing backup and recovery operations
  • Ability to lead database integration and modernization efforts and provide troubleshooting expertise
