Responsibilities:
Lilly's Finance Internship Program is a 10-week, hands-on experience designed to introduce students to the role Finance plays in driving business decisions across a global healthcare company. Interns are embedded within a Finance team and contribute directly through meaningful, real-world projects in areas such as Corporate Financial Planning & Reporting, Treasury & Capital Markets, Tax & Audit, Manufacturing or Commercial Finance, and business-facing finance supporting functions like R&D, Sales & Marketing, and Procurement.
Throughout the program, work is focused on solving real business problems through leveraging technology, with interns delivering analysis and recommendations that drive impact across the business. In addition to project work, interns gain exposure to diverse areas of Finance, collaborate across functions, and build analytical and problem-solving skills. The experience is complemented by professional development, networking opportunities, and engagement with Finance leaders, providing a well-rounded introduction to a career in corporate finance at Lilly.
Finance internships offer robust opportunities for students to gain exposure to the organization, leverage key functional skills and make an impact.
You will:
  • Contribute to Lilly's Finance organization through your work and recommendations on relevant, challenging, business-critical project(s) in areas such as Corporate Audit Services, Corporate Tax, Corporate Financial Reporting and Planning, Treasury and Capital Markets, or finance organizations supporting key parts of our business (Research, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Procurement and Global Business Solutions).

  • Participate in a case study assessing and recommending an optimal clinical development and commercial strategy for bringing new therapy to market. This project will provide an opportunity to hone your leadership and teamwork skills as you research, model, and deliver a presentation to senior Finance leaders.

  • Learn about a "day-in-the-life" of a full-time financial analyst through discussion and collaboration with peer mentors

  • Involvement in various events will provide you with a further opportunity to:

  • Gain exposure and understanding of the various areas within Lilly's Finance organization

  • Build your understanding of Lilly's growing role in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Network with Lilly Finance peers and leaders to gain insight into the function and culture

  • Further explore the city of Indianapolis and learn why it is a top 10 city in which to start a career

Basic Qualifications:
  • Actively pursuing one of the following degrees: Business related undergrad with a concentration or emphasis on accounting, finance, economics, or data analytics or quantitatively focused undergrad including computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, or statistics with relevant coursework in business, accounting, finance, or economics

  • Expected graduation date of August 2028
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Functional Job Skills & Preference:
  • Demonstrated skills and application of automation, data analysis, artificial intelligence, visualization, or financial tools (e.g., Co-Pilot, Claude, agents, Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL)

  • Clearly demonstrated analytical thought and aptitude

Additional Information:
All interns will be considered for full-time positions based on their internship performance
  • Lilly arranges various intern activities including sporting events, dinners, lunch and learns, volunteer activities etc. to provide opportunities for socializing, professional development, and learning more about Lilly.

  • Interns will receive 1 week of paid time off during the Lilly summer shut-down (June 29th, 2026 - July 3rd, 2026)

  • 1:1 mentoring from an experienced professional in the function

  • Interns will receive a competitive salary and free parking at their work site, as well as access to Lilly's LIFE fitness center and bike garage

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
