Our Team
Choosing where to start your tax career is an important decision. This is a full-time, in-person internship beginning in May 2028.
What You Will Do
At Koch, you'll be part of a team that tackles real business challenges and creates value across a diverse portfolio of companies. You'll collaborate with experienced tax professionals, build your professional network, and learn more about our unique business philosophy, Principle Based Management™, through training, mentorship, and networking opportunities throughout the internship.
As a Tax Intern, you may have the opportunity to:
  • Build relationships across the business to better understand operations and identify tax-related opportunities
  • Participate in training programs that introduce key tax concepts and industry-leading tax software
  • Partner with tax professionals to analyze business transactions and support strategic decision-making
  • Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns and support compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations
  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world tax and business challenges
  • Strengthen your analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills through meaningful project work
  • Attend internship onboarding and training in Wichita, KS (travel may be required for interns based in Atlanta, GA or Plano, TX)
  • Learn, develop, and apply Principle Based Management™ , Koch's framework for creating long-term value and achieving personal and professional growth

Selected candidates may be placed in one of the following (but not limited to) areas of concentration:
Global Tax Reporting (GTR)
  • Contribute to federal tax reporting and compliance efforts for multiple Koch businesses while collaborating with accounting, finance, and tax professionals to support tax planning, reporting, and commercial decision-making

Tax Accounting
  • Assist with analyzing and reporting tax data, partnering with accounting, finance, and tax professionals to support accurate reporting and informed business decisions

Tax Transformation
  • Support initiatives that modernize tax processes, technology, and data by helping improve reporting tools, enhance data quality, and contribute to projects that drive long-term organizational transformation

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Currently enrolled in an Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business degree program and expected to graduate
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in person during the Summer 2028 internship
  • Eligible for full-time employment no later than Summer 2029
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Internship, co-op, or other relevant experience in accounting, finance, or audit
  • Coursework in taxation, accounting, finance, or business analytics
  • Knowledge of GAAP reporting principles and experience using analytical and reporting tools such as Alteryx, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI
  • An analytical mindset and eagerness to learn, solve complex problems, and create value
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and how they can be applied to improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and create value
