IBTCI serves government agencies, private sector companies, and several donor agencies. IBTCI specializes in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) and institutional support across many areas and sectors including, but not limited to, conflict and crisis, democracy and governance, agriculture, economic growth, food security, education, environment, and global health.

Job Title: Intern-International Project Support (IPS) - Business Development

Department/Location: Business Development/Vienna, VA (hybrid)

Reports To: Business Development Management

Type: Regular Part-Time - 28 hours per week

Classification: Non-exempt

Overview: IBTCI is seeking an Intern IPS, Business Development with experience to work part-time in our Vienna, VA home office. This part-time position would be available to start as soon as possible. IBTCI seeks a skilled professional who has previous experience in a similar role.


This position is based in IBTCIs home office located in Vienna, VA (currently in Hybrid mode, going to office twice a week).

Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the BD team including transcribing meeting notes and formatting documents.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts including sourcing candidates for proposals, formatting CVs, and creating personnel bios, matrices, etc.
  • Provide proposal support including requests for information, project research, etc.
  • Prepare project descriptions.
  • Assist with BD Trackers.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy files.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least six months of work experience in a high volume, fast paced work environment.
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent writing, research and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required.

Education: At least two years of college education in international affairs/political science, economics, business, English or other related area.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Coursework in business administration or international development business development experience.
  • Previous experience with or coursework on U.S. government or international contracts preferred.
  • Knowledge of international development.
  • Basic understanding of digital data collection and visualization tools used in MERL, ideally with familiarity with KoboToolbox and/or Power BI. The successful candidate may be asked to support the design, testing, deployment, and management of simple KoboToolbox forms for surveys, monitoring checklists, site verification tools, feedback forms, and other data collection instruments or data visualization using Power BI.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Drive.
  • Working level proficiency in a second language, ideally Spanish, French or Arabic.

Working Environment: Work is performed in a typical corporate office environment.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: No travel is required.

Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $16 USD per hour.
