Job description

RCN Capital is a national, direct private lender supporting real estate investors across the country.
Originations Intern will be trained in loan processing systems and processes to assist a team of Loan Officers in origination and loan processing. In addition, the Intern will be assigned to work on various projects associated with originations and process improvement.
The Intern can also assist the Managing Director of Growth & Strategy with a number of projects including:
* Competitor research (new loan products, pricing and loan terms, senior management changes)
* Assist in identifying new CL and broker candidates
* Research the residential mortgage industry (finding candidates for RCN to partner with
* Research reasons why loans aren't converting
Scope and Responsibilities:
The Originations Intern will provide administrative support to the originations team with the goal of shepherding loans to closing and onboarding new partners.
This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced setting!
Primary Goals:
  • Learn the operations of a Loan Officer, which includes
    • Performing data analysis to develop targeted call lists of potential business leads
    • Learning the loan process and assisting the onboarding of clients and loans into the loan system and Salesforce
    • Following up with leads to get needed information necessary to provide a quote
    • Performing data entry tasks to ensure that all leads and progress on pre-qualification is documented in the system
  • Working on additional tasks and projects as assigned, which may include
    • Assisting with projects associated with new revenue stream development
    • Social media posting - including idea generation and video editing

Requirements:
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Enrolled in a 4-year college program
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Salesforce preferred
  • Coding ability preferred
  • Project management preferred
  • Experience in a client facing role (sales, client services, etc.) preferred

Educational Paths of Interest:

Work Schedule:
  • Full time during internship - 40 hours/week
  • Onsite in either:

    • South Windsor, CT
    • Charlotte, NC
    • Los Angeles, CA

  • Standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 9AM to 6PM
