Job Summary
Specializing in credits (statutory) and/or incentives (negotiated/discretionary), will work with senior management and market leading brokers across the firm on multiple and challenging footprint optimization, location strategy and site selection engagements that contribute to the delivery of our incentives and credits services to the marketplace. Assists clients in every stage of a transactio; from support of location strategy and site selection at inception and initial due diligence, to selling and leading the negotiation of credits and incentives for strategic cost reduction, risk mitigation and tax-efficient transaction structuring.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage go to market plans regarding the expansion of our market leading National Economic Incentives Advisory (EIA) practice; support global M&A and expansion of Newmark with the full suite of incentives and credits service solutions.
  • Fully align and plan for practice growth, client service platform and resource planning and investment with other services lines across our Newmark Consulting Group and Occupier Solutions (OS) platforms; strong expectation for cross-selling and team-based leadership ideation, methods development and client execution.
  • Write proposals and scopes of work for pursuit of business development and review EIA deliverables for quality assurance, client satisfaction and implementable solutions.
  • Market recognized subject matter expert in guiding clients in area(s) of the incentives and credits specialization; expectation to speak, write and position practice success via digital and social media.
  • Lead and manage select incentive negotiation projects as key principal or senior manager on key client engagements and accounts; business model is to interface with enterprise level leaders from C Suite, HR, Real Estate, Operations, Risk Management and of course Tax Professionals.
  • Work with our internal broker customer; through market leadership and formal target marketing initiatives (e.g. industry, geography and function).
  • Manage, coach and mentor EIA staff; collaborative leadership with Global Strategy service line leaders on people development and performance management expectations.
  • Coordinate ongoing collection of operational data from department.
  • Consolidate and report trends, including variance reporting analysis.
  • Be attentive to client's requirements and effectively communicate the value proposition for services offered.
  • May perform duties as assigned, such a special projects with firm leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Tax, Urban & Regional Planning, Economics, Law, Real Estate or Economic Development
  • Master's Degree not required, but will be of interest; global experience in incentives & credits also of interest but not required
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Site Selection, Economic Development, Real Estate, Finance, Government or Tax
  • Experienced manager of team members
  • Knowledge of the federal, state and local economic incentive programs
  • Knowledge of compliance practices and reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical and research skills; familiar with developing AI tools and platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated thought leader, published and market recognized with states, regions, utilities and other public sector entities; on the speaker circuit for incentives & credits trends, innovations, compliance, etc.
  • Advanced use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages
