Job description

A Mortgage Clerk provides routine administrative support and plays a role in the processing and documentation of mortgage loans. Their responsibilities include reviewing loan applications, coordinating with various parties, and ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reviews loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with lending guidelines.

  • Verifies borrower information, such as employment history, income, credit reports, and property details.
  • Coordinates with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other parties involved in the loan process to gather additional information or resolve any issues.
  • Assists in the preparation of loan documents, including disclosures, promissory notes, and closing documents.
  • Ensures that all required documentation is obtained and properly executed by borrowers and other parties.
  • Inputs borrower information into loan processing systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicates with borrowers and other stakeholders to provide updates on the loan status and address any questions or concerns.
  • Maintains accurate and organized loan files, including documentation of all communication and actions taken during the loan process.
  • Assists in the review of loan files for compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Performs data entry tasks related to loan processing and maintaining accurate records in the loan management system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates degree and/or two years' relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
