Job description

Position Summary:

The E-Commerce Merchandising Coordinator supports the accuracy, completeness, searchability, and visual quality of product content across the Product Information Management (PIM) system and e-commerce platforms. The role works with vendors and internal stakeholders to collect and enhance product information, respond to PIM-related requests, analyze product and marketplace data, and help deliver a consistent online customer experience.

6 month contract with possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities:

Product Information Management

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve product content within the PIM database.
  • Ensure product records are accurate, complete, consistent, and aligned with established data standards.
  • Support new requests, questions, and issue resolution related to the PIM system.
  • Coordinate product onboarding and content updates, including descriptions, attributes, specifications, categories, documents, and related product information.
  • Perform routine quality checks and identify missing, duplicate, outdated, or inconsistent product data.

Digital Content & Search Optimization

  • Optimize product titles, descriptions, attributes, keywords, and category assignments to improve on-site search and product discoverability.
  • Apply e-commerce content best practices while maintaining clear, customer-friendly, and brand-appropriate product information.
  • Review the competitive marketplace and stay current with emerging practices across the e-commerce ecosystem.
  • Recommend content improvements that support customer engagement and conversion.

Visual Asset Management

  • Source, enhance, organize, and upload high-quality product visuals for the PIM system and e-commerce platforms.
  • Confirm images meet required format, resolution, naming, background, and quality standards.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to address missing, incorrect, or low-quality assets.
  • Maintain consistent presentation of product images and supporting digital assets across online channels.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Run and analyze product content, assortment, quality, and e-commerce reports.
  • Identify data trends, content gaps, and opportunities for process or customer-experience improvements.
  • Create forecasts and provide practical recommendations based on available data and observed trends.
  • Track assigned requests and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.

Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work with vendors to acquire complete and accurate product information and digital assets.
  • Understand and document key product features, benefits, applications, and competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with e-commerce, marketing, sales, category management, IT, and other internal partners to support product launches and ongoing content needs.
  • Follow up on outstanding information and communicate requirements, priorities, and deadlines clearly.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in e-commerce, operations coordination, product content management, customer service, or a related role.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), Product Information Management (PIM) systems, or similar databases is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
