Job description

Director, Ecommerce & Digital Experience

Carve Designs is seeking a strategic and commercially minded leader to own and scale our ecommerce business. This role will lead the performance, experience, and growth of the direct to consumer channel, shaping how consumers discover, shop, and engage with the Carve brand online.

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Director of Ecommerce & Digital Experience will operate as the business owner of the ecommerce channel, responsible for driving profitable revenue growth while delivering a best in class digital shopping experience.

This role sits at the intersection of ecommerce strategy, digital product, merchandising, and analytics. The right candidate is a strong operator who can translate data and consumer behavior into actionable strategies that drive both growth and customer loyalty.

Ecommerce is a core growth driver for Carve Designs, and this role will play a central role in shaping the brand’s digital future.

What You Will Own Ecommerce Performance & Business Ownership

You will own the performance of the ecommerce channel and be accountable for delivering profitable growth.

Responsibilities include:

Ecommerce revenue forecasting and planning

Monitoring and optimizing key drivers including traffic, conversion rate, and average order value

Identifying opportunities to scale revenue while protecting contribution margin

Partnering with marketing and finance to align acquisition investment with profitability targets

You will operate with the mindset of a general manager of the ecommerce business.

Digital Experience & Site Strategy

You will shape how the Carve brand comes to life online.

Responsibilities include:

Defining the site merchandising strategy across homepage, collections, and campaign landing pages

Leading product launch merchandising strategies and seasonal storytelling

Ensuring best sellers, new arrivals, and key styles are effectively surfaced

Partnering with brand and marketing teams to ensure campaign alignment with the onsite experience

Conversion Optimization & Customer Journey

Lead initiatives that improve the end to end ecommerce customer journey.

Responsibilities include:

Identifying friction points across product discovery, PDPs, and checkout

Leading experimentation and A/B testing initiatives

Improving landing page performance for marketing campaigns

Ensuring the digital experience supports the full lifecycle from acquisition through repeat purchase

Search, Discovery & Organic Growth

Lead Carve’s organic discovery strategy across traditional search and emerging AI driven platforms.

Responsibilities include:

Developing SEO strategy across site architecture, product pages, and editorial content

Implementing Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategies for AI driven search experiences

Ensuring Carve products are discoverable across emerging discovery platforms including generative search tools

Partnering with marketing and content teams to increase organic traffic and brand visibility

You will own the evolution of the ecommerce platform and ensure the technology stack supports continued growth.

Responsibilities include:

Managing relationships with ecommerce development partners

Prioritizing platform improvements and feature development

Evaluating tools that improve merchandising, personalization, and analytics

Ensuring the platform supports both marketing initiatives and operational efficiency

Build a culture of data driven decision making.

Responsibilities include:

Developing reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into ecommerce performance

Analyzing customer behavior across acquisition, merchandising, and retention

Translating insights into actionable strategies that drive growth

Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that enhance the ecommerce experience.

Responsibilities include:

Identifying opportunities to leverage AI driven tools for merchandising, personalization, and content generation

Improving product discovery through intelligent search and recommendation engines

Leveraging automation and AI tools to improve team productivity and decision making

Cross Functional Leadership

Success in this role requires close collaboration across the organization.

You will work closely with:

Marketing to align site experience with campaigns and acquisition strategy

Merchandising and product teams to support launches and assortment storytelling

Operations to ensure inventory considerations are reflected in site strategy

Technology partners to support ongoing platform development

What We Are Looking For

8 to 12+ years of ecommerce or digital commerce experience

A proven track record of driving profitable ecommerce revenue growth

Strong understanding of ecommerce merchandising, digital experience, and conversion optimization

Experience managing ecommerce platforms such as Shopify or similar

Strong analytical skills and comfort working with ecommerce performance metrics

Ability to lead cross functional initiatives and influence across teams
