Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Fulfillment Assistant Manager to drive daily fulfillment execution, help maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure orders are processed accurately and on time in a lean, fast-paced environment. This role leads a small core team for most of the year and steps into a larger leadership role during peak season (Nov–Dec).

Working closely with the E-commerce Fulfillment Senior Manager, you’ll execute operational priorities, improve processes, and ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency across all fulfillment activities. This is a “player-coach” role—ideal for someone who leads from the floor, takes ownership, and thrives in a fast-moving environment.

Compensation:

$55,000 - $65,000

Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily fulfillment operations (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, returns) and work alongside the team to ensure accurate, on-time order processing

  • Troubleshoot issues in real time to maintain efficient workflow and throughput

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through receiving, cycle counts, and physical inventories; monitor stock levels, support forecasting, and resolve discrepancies

  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable a core team of 3–6 associates; set expectations, provide feedback, and foster a positive, results-driven culture

  • Partner closely with the E-commerce Fulfillment Senior Manager to execute priorities, improve workflows, and implement new processes and systems

  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of seasonal staff; scale operations and provide leadership during peak season (Nov–Dec)

  • Track performance metrics (order accuracy, on-time shipping, productivity); drive continuous improvement in efficiency, organization, and workflow

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse; ensure adherence to safety standards

  • Adapt to changing business needs and take ownership of additional operational priorities as required

Qualifications:Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution operations in a fast-paced environment

  • At least 1–2 years in an Assistant Manager (or equivalent) role with direct ownership of daily operations and team performance

  • Proven ability to lead and hold accountability for team performance (typically 3–10+ employees) in a hands-on, floor-based environment

  • Strong working knowledge of core warehouse functions: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and returns

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining inventory accuracy, including cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and organization of physical inventory

  • Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Excel (or similar tools) for tracking, reporting, and operational decision-making

  • Background in e-commerce or high-volume order fulfillment environments

  • Experience hiring, onboarding, and training employees, including seasonal staff

  • Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve workflow (Lean or similar approaches)

  • Ability to operate with a high level of ownership—solving problems, making decisions, and driving results without constant oversight

  • Comfortable working in a lean, hands-on environment and scaling operations during peak season (Nov–Dec)

Education
  • Associate’s degree in supply chain, operations, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience, preferred.
