The Opportunity:

The Warehouse Operations Lead Assistant is responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse operations by ensuring packing, picking, and shipping processes run smoothly. This role acts as a bridge between associates and leads, monitoring workflow, assisting with problem-solving, processing system reviews, and ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) and priorities are met. The position requires strong organizational skills, hands-on leadership, and knowledge of warehouse technology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of pack lines, pick side, and shipping areas to confirm associates are connecting correctly and processes are followed.
  • Serve as the point of contact with shift leads to identify priorities and projects at the start of the day and provide updates throughout the shift.
  • Monitor productivity and step in to assist with problem-solving on the warehouse floor to keep associates on task.
  • Coordinate with loaders to ensure boxes are divided by ship-via and trailers are closed/locks removed on time.
  • Oversee the preparation of FedEx Express orders for timely pickup.
  • Confirm that all system Reviews are checked and processed multiple times during the shift.
  • Monitor and track SLA orders to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure safety standards (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) are completed by packers and pickers at the end of the shift.
  • Verify that all doors are closed and trailers are ready for carrier pickup at the end of shift.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center operations.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with associates, loaders, and leads.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working on the floor and engaging directly with associates throughout the shift.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder/JDA, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail).
  • Familiarity with RF scanners, SLA tracking tools, and shipping software (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
  • Work Environment
  • Full-time, on-site role in a high-volume fulfillment center.
  • Requires frequent walking and monitoring of the warehouse floor.
  • Daily interaction with packers, pickers, loaders, and leads.
  • Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
