About Blue Wheel

Blue Wheel is a digital performance marketing agency that helps brands connect the people, platforms, and insights that drive growth across modern commerce. With more than 100 team members and four offices across the U.S., we've built a culture where curiosity is encouraged, ownership is expected, collaboration is valued, and trust is earned through action. These principles guide how we work with clients and how we support one another as a team. If this sounds like a team you want to build with, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

The TikTok Shop Strategist serves as the primary strategic partner for a portfolio of TikTok Shop clients, owning the day-to-day client relationship while leading the planning, execution, and optimization of each program. Reporting to the Head of Earned & Owned Media, this role is responsible for translating client business goals into actionable TikTok Shop strategies that drive measurable growth.

This is a hands-on role that blends strategic thinking with execution. The Strategist leads account direction, develops recommendations, manages client communications, and coordinates cross-functional teams while partnering closely with TikTok Shop Operations Specialists to execute day-to-day work. When needed, the Strategist is comfortable stepping into operational tasks to ensure continuity, maintain momentum, and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Success in this role requires someone who is equally comfortable presenting strategy to clients, collaborating with internal teams, solving operational challenges, and rolling up their sleeves to execute.

Client Strategy & Account Management

Serve as the primary day-to-day strategic partner for assigned TikTok Shop clients, building trusted relationships through proactive communication, thoughtful recommendations, and consistent execution. Lead regular client meetings, develop strategic roadmaps, and ensure initiatives align with each client's business objectives. Coordinate with internal teams, manage priorities, and maintain clear communication around timelines, deliverables, and next steps while escalating risks or opportunities as appropriate.

TikTok Shop Strategy & Launch

Lead the strategic planning and successful launch of new TikTok Shop programs, ensuring each account is positioned for long-term growth. Partner closely with Operations Specialists for launch readiness, establish a strong commerce foundation, and guide through onboarding and implementation.

Commerce Growth & Optimization

Develop and evolve strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth across TikTok Shop. Continuously evaluate business performance, promotional opportunities, merchandising strategies, affiliate programs, and creator initiatives to identify opportunities for increased GMV, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Creator & Affiliate Strategy

Develop creator and affiliate strategies that support each client's business goals, including recruitment approaches, promotional initiatives, product seeding, incentive programs, and performance optimization. Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure strategic plans are executed effectively and evolve based on performance insights

Performance Analysis & Business Insights

Analyze account performance across commerce, creator, affiliate, and marketing initiatives to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that help clients make informed business decisions and achieve their growth objectives.

Operational Oversight

Provide strategic oversight of account health while partnering with team members to ensure smooth day-to-day execution. Help resolve operational challenges, remove roadblocks, and lead escalations when platform issues, inventory concerns, or other business-critical matters require strategic direction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work collaboratively across Social Commerce Operations, Creator Partnerships, Paid Media, Organic Social, Community Management, Lifecycle Marketing, Analytics, and Client Services to deliver integrated TikTok Shop programs. Provide guidance on account priorities, review strategic direction, and step into execution when needed to ensure continuity and client success.

Innovation & Business Growth

Stay current on TikTok Shop platform developments, commerce trends, and emerging best practices. Proactively identify new opportunities to improve performance, strengthen client partnerships, expand service offerings, and help clients maximize the value of TikTok Shop as a commerce channel.

What to Expect

During your first 30 days, you will begin managing a portfolio of TikTok Shop accounts while partnering closely with Operations Specialists to understand workflows, client objectives, and Blue Wheel's approach to social commerce.
