Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will help perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides and Ultrasonography for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.

Every day you will Demonstrates proficiency and competence in all aspects of nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and other applicable modalities.

To be successful in this role, you must

  • Demonstrate competence in image and examination processing, quality control within the modality and PACS. Able to teach new technologists and peers.

  • Demonstrate appropriate administering and monitoring of radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical material per guidelines.

  • Competently performsall interventional procedures such as; thoracentesis, paracentesis, needle localizations, breast biopsies, core biopsies, aspirations an therapy treatments.

  • Identify and initiate accurate assessment of life threatening conditions.

  • Place accurate orders in the HIS system, making all additions, corrections, and cancellations as necessary. Confirms accurate interfaces from HIS to PACS. Places and/or confirms accurate medical record.

  • Interview patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies, as required.

Job Requirements

Required

  • ARRT and CNMT certified.

  • Current American Heart Association BLS CPR

  • Special training in nuclear medicine.

  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures in vivo and in vitro, radiopharmacy, dose calibration and calculations

  • Current on continuing education units required by the licensing boards.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months previous experience as a nuclear medicine technology
