Job description

ECM Consultants, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and implementation of various structural projects. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in structural engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of projects including residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional buildings.
  2. Utilize software tools and engineering principles to create detailed structural designs and calculations.
  3. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop integrated design solutions.
  4. Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing structures, identify potential issues, and propose retrofitting or repair solutions.
  5. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for construction projects.
  6. Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
  7. Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and project teams to discuss project requirements, progress, and challenges.
  8. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
  9. Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering technologies, codes, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  2. Professional Engineer (PE) license for State of Louisiana required or ability to become one.
  3. Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in consulting or construction industry.
  4. Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STADD Pro or similar.
  5. Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  8. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  9. Experience with Revit or other BIM software is a plus.
