WHAT WILL YOU DO AS AN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY TECHNICIAN?
The Echocardiography Technician performs accurate adult echocardiographic exams, stress echos, and transesophageal ultrasound studies on inpatients and outpatients. The position requires initiative and judgment, utilizing ultrasound equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities:
  • Must work closely with the physicians and be able to detect abnormalities on the exams and report the findings to the nurse or physician as needed.
  • Maintain department supplies and perform tasks necessary to insure performance of the ultrasound and work station equipment
  • Ability to be on call periodically during the month to help insure 24/7 coverage.
  • Retain statistics used for the monthly statistical reports.
  • Work closely with students from ultrasound programs from various colleges to aid in their clinical instruction.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE AN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY TECHNICIAN?
Requirements:
Associate's degree in a Medical Science field-Required.
Three (3) years' experience in ultrasound, or come from an accredited ultrasound school and be registered or registry eligible.-Required
Obtain echo certification/registration within one year of employment. Must obtain the credits necessary to maintain their registry status.Required

Salary Range: $36.07-$54.10 / per hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
