Position Summary:

Are you a skilled and experienced construction professional? Join us at Marous Brothers Construction (MBC) as an Earthwork Foreman! In this role, you'll oversee all earthwork activities on our construction sites, ensuring that projects meet specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Your expertise will be crucial in planning, coordinating, and executing earthwork operations, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up cuts and fills, plan haul routes, and maintain haul roads.
  • Perform rough grading and work with inspectors to ensure fills meet project specifications.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of related plans, specifications, contractual requirements, and schedules.
  • Provide status updates and communicate any issues with the superintendent and project manager.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Work with the superintendent to schedule employees and equipment to maximize utilization rates.
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors related to earthwork and grading, such as aggregate suppliers or blasting subcontractors.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees and personnel on site by maintaining compliance with all applicable OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for all as-builts and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five plus years of previous heavy civil construction experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret grading plans, specifications, and geotechnical information.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and direct others effectively.
  • Experience with grade checking to meet project plans and specifications using various methods, including GPS, rotating laser, stakes, and cut sheets.
  • Fundamental knowledge of GPS equipment as it applies to grading, machine control, and rover.
