Job description

Geotechnician – Drill Rig Support
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Geo-Technicians to support active diamond drilling operations at the Mine Site. This role provides continuous geotechnical and geological support for multiple drill rigs operating in a remote exploration environment.
Successful candidates will work closely with drilling crews, geologists, and field management to ensure accurate core handling, geotechnical logging, and daily operational support across 12-hour day and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform rig-side geotechnical and geological logging
  • Monitor drill core recovery, orientation, handling, and transport
  • Maintain core integrity from recovery through boxing and shipment
  • Prepare daily quick logs for near real-time operational decisions
  • Collect and record structural and orientation data using digital and manual tools
  • Log rock quality, fracture frequency, recovery, and discontinuity conditions
  • Photograph logged core according to project standards
  • Enter and quality-check geological and geotechnical data
  • Coordinate daily with drill crews, supervisors, and geology staff
  • Conduct daily rig inspections and participate in safety meetings and shift handovers
  • Communicate safety, operational, or geological concerns promptly
