About This Role

The role of a Teacher is multifaceted, requiring the development of a cohesive team, coordination of educational curriculum, and management of daily classroom activities. To achieve this, Teachers must possess a deep understanding of children's developmental needs, creating a stimulating and safe environment that fosters active engagement and success. Effective communication with children and adults is crucial, enabling Teachers to guide their team, resolve parental concerns, and ensure the overall well-being of the children in their care.


What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum tailored to developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, incorporating engaging classroom activities.
  • Lead by example, motivating the teaching team through modeling and coaching to ensure collective success.
  • Design age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth, actively engaging children and encouraging their participation.
  • Maintain regular, open communication with parents, including informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences to ensure transparency and support.
  • Ensure adherence to all center policies and state regulations, upholding high standards of education and care.
  • Establish a healthy and safe classroom environment, maintaining strict hygiene and cleanliness standards, as well as ensuring the security and well-being of all children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities, adhere to safety and hygiene standards, and support the smooth operation of the classroom.
  • Manage accurate records, forms, and files, maintaining a meticulous and organized approach.
  • Prioritize ongoing professional development, implementing a personal growth plan to continually enhance teaching practices and maintain high standards of education.

Requirements
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
