Job Summary Lifeguard The starting salary for Lifeguards is $18.25 hourly Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and well-being of all who use the facility. Monitors swimmers and pool area to maintain a safe environment; enforces all rules and policies of the Swim and Fitness Center to prevent accidents; help maintain cleanliness on and around pool decks, locker rooms, and lobby areas; administers first aid to individuals when needed; provides customer service; works under the supervision of a Pool Supervisor. Lifeguards regularly participate in training, including cross-training for Swim Instructor assignments and are required to maintain certifications (listed below) throughout their employment

Senior Lifeguards are responsible for all duties of a Lifeguard and for mentoring lesser experienced staff, functioning as a crew leader, assisting with staff training sessions, being available for last minute substitutions, and willing to be cross-trained and work as a Swim Instructor and/or Front Desk Clerk. Senior Lifeguards regularly participate in and are required to maintain certifications (listed below) throughout their employment. Must be able to work a varied schedule, including early morning, weekend and evening shifts.

Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Lifeguard QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Must possess current certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent certifications (American Red Cross preferred). Candidates must successfully complete a Skills Evaluation prior to being hired.

EXPERIENCE: No experience needed. EDUCATION: High school student and at least 15 years of age. Senior Lifeguard QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Must possess current certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent certifications (American Red Cross preferred).

Candidates must successfully complete a Skills Evaluation prior to being hired. It is preferred that applicants possess leadership skills, advanced training / certification or equivalent experiences with respect for the position. Examples include: Pool Operator's License, First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician Certification, Water Safety Instructor, or Lifeguard Instructor Certification.

EXPERIENCE: 2 seasons (or more) of Lifeguard or other related experience. EDUCATION: High School graduate (or equivalent) Important Notice to Applicants: Applicants must have access to email and a smartphone and/or computer with internet access for job related communication and scheduling.
