• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the occupational therapy needs of children and develop individualized treatment plans based on their unique goals and capabilities.
• Implement targeted interventions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, including sensory integration therapy, fine motor skill development, and adaptive equipment training.
• Collaborate closely with families to educate them on therapeutic strategies and activities that support skill development in daily routines.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and update treatment plans as necessary to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and share insights with speech therapists, physical therapists, and other professionals.
• Educate families about available community resources, services, and support networks to enhance child development.
• Provide supervision and guidance to occupational therapy assistants and interns, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

This role specifically targets young children, often from birth to age three, who are undergoing challenging developmental transitions. Your expertise will directly impact their growth and abilities in critical areas such as self-care, communication, and social interaction. • Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Virginia is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in an early intervention setting, is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical reasoning skills and an understanding of developmental milestones and pediatric therapy methodologies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with young clients and their families.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment effective for pediatric clients.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in pediatric occupational therapy is required.
• Familiarity with community resources and support services for families in need of early intervention.
