About the Opportunity

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Engineer Systems 3 to support the EA-18G Growler Block 1 and Block 2 Programs. This role will support software systems engineering activities for advanced electronic warfare platforms serving the U.S. Navy.

The selected candidate will work closely with software developers, systems engineers, test engineers, and government customers to support software integration, verification, validation, and system testing activities within an Agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and contribute to software system designs and architecture.

  • Understand interfaces between multiple subsystems and software components.

  • Develop test procedures for verification and validation activities.

  • Perform integration, functional, regression, and performance testing.

  • Analyze test results and document defects.

  • Support root-cause investigations and defect resolution efforts.

  • Maintain requirements traceability using IBM DOORS or equivalent tools.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate with customers, software teams, and technical stakeholders.

  • Participate in technical reviews, audits, milestone reviews, and design walkthroughs.

  • Interpret Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), and architecture documentation.

  • Support software verification and validation activities throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
  • BS Degree in STEM field with 5+ years of experience OR

  • MS Degree in STEM field with 3+ years of experience.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Experience with software integration and testing.

  • Experience conducting functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

  • Experience with requirements-based testing.

  • Experience using IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools.

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps environments.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work onsite full-time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting embedded software systems.

  • Experience developing test strategies and verification plans.

  • Experience leading root-cause investigations and defect management activities.

  • Experience with military, aerospace, avionics, or defense systems.

  • Experience working with software requirements, ICDs, and system architecture documentation.

  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy or DoD programs.
