Business Assistant, Account Management
City: WEST LAFAYETTE
Job Description:
Job Summary
The Business Assistant will provide support and perform business assistant duties for the departments of Agronomy and Botany and Plant Pathology. This position will work collaboratively with departmental faculty, staff, students, and other business units or areas to perform various business functions that support the mission of the University.
This is a hybrid position, with a combination of remote and on-site work.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Act as a resource liaison for the Financial Planning and Analysis area, central offices, operations centers with responsibilities in account management for recharge accounts.
  • Primary point of contact for Recharge account management, and accounts payable
  • Primary areas of responsibilities are subject to change to meet the needs of the Division/College.

What We're Looking For:
Required:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Three years of experience in customer service, as an account clerk, business, or other related field.
  • Experience with procurement.
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service.

Skills Needed:
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, file management and records, forms and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with students, individuals and business customers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multitask, work under pressure, handle interruptions and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions.
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology.
  • Proficiency in software experience: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook/Electronic Email.
  • Must also be able to work with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

What is Helpful:
  • Two years of University business office experience.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, SuccessFactors, and billing/collections.
  • University-related experience.
