Their primary duties include conducting inspections of facilities, reviewing records, collecting samples, and investigating potential violations related to air, water, and land pollution. EPA Inspectors play a critical role in protecting public health and the environment by enforcing standards and providing guidance to organizations on how to remain in compliance. They may work in various environments, such as factories, power plants, or waste treatment facilities. Their work helps prevent environmental hazards and promotes sustainable practices.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an EPA inspector?

To thrive as an EPA Inspector, you need a solid understanding of environmental science, regulations, and investigative procedures, typically supported by a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field.
