Job Title: EDM Operator

Job Description

The EDM Operator sets up and operates electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment, including wire, sinker, and hole drill machines, to produce precision metal components. This role involves interpreting blueprints and work instructions, selecting appropriate tooling and machine parameters, and ensuring that all parts meet strict tolerances and surface finish requirements. The EDM Operator works closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment such as wire, sinker, and hole drill machines to manufacture precision metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications to determine machining requirements and setup parameters.
  • Select appropriate tooling, electrodes, and machine parameters to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Monitor machining processes, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot issues to maintain consistent part quality and productivity.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments and other inspection tools to verify that they meet quality and dimensional standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on EDM machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
