How much do e911 jobs pay per year?
What is the difference between E911 vs 911 Dispatcher?
| Aspect | E911 | 911 Dispatcher |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Role | Technician managing enhanced emergency call systems and location data | Emergency call taker and dispatcher coordinating response |
| Certifications | Often requires technical certifications in telecommunications or GIS | Emergency dispatch certification or training |
| Work Environment | Control centers with technical systems | Emergency response centers, field dispatching |
| Industry Usage | Telecommunications, public safety tech | Public safety, emergency services |
While both roles are vital in emergency response, E911 specialists focus on managing the technical systems that enhance location accuracy during emergency calls, whereas 911 Dispatchers handle the call-taking and coordination of emergency services.
