Synthara Systems develops practical artificial intelligence, automation, software, and digital learning solutions designed to help organizations improve their operations, strengthen internal processes, and use technology more effectively.

Synthara Systems is beginning a new project to develop engaging online learning experiences for K–12 students. We are seeking a K–12 E-Learning Instructional Design Intern to help plan, create, review, and improve the educational content developed for this project.

This is a learning-focused internship intended for teachers, education professionals, students, recent graduates, career changers, aspiring instructional designers, and individuals interested in K–12 education or e-learning.

Interns will receive guidance, feedback, and opportunities to contribute to supervised projects based on their current abilities, interests, and professional development goals.

The K–12 E-Learning Instructional Design Intern will work directly on Synthara Systems’ new online learning project for K–12 students.

Interns will help transform educational topics and source materials into clear, age-appropriate, and engaging digital learning experiences. Depending on project needs and the intern’s experience, assignments may include developing course outlines, organizing lessons, writing learning objectives, creating activities and assessments, reviewing educational content, and improving the overall learner experience.

Interns may also use artificial intelligence and digital tools to support research, brainstorming, drafting, editing, content organization, and quality assurance.

Previous instructional design experience is not required. Projects and responsibilities will be assigned at an appropriate level, with opportunities to learn new skills and gradually take on more advanced assignments.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with the development of online learning experiences for K–12 students.
• Researching educational topics and organizing information into clear lessons and learning modules.
• Helping adapt content for specific grade levels, age groups, and learning abilities.
• Writing measurable learning objectives and course outcomes.
• Creating lesson plans, scripts, storyboards, presentations, and instructional materials.
• Developing quizzes, knowledge checks, assignments, activities, and other assessments.
• Helping ensure that lessons, activities, and assessments align with the intended learning objectives.
• Reviewing educational content for clarity, accuracy, consistency, grammar, age appropriateness, and student engagement.
• Converting documents, presentations, videos, or other source materials into structured online learning content.
• Researching K–12 learning standards, instructional methods, educational technology, and online learning best practices.
• Using AI-assisted tools to support research, brainstorming, drafting, editing, and content organization.
• Testing online lessons from the student’s perspective and documenting issues or recommended improvements.
• Helping make learning materials accessible and understandable for students with different learning needs.
• Assisting with course uploads, content updates, and organization within an e-learning platform or learning management system.
• Participating in virtual team meetings, project discussions, demonstrations, and content reviews.
• Collaborating with team members on assigned projects and learning objectives.
• Applying feedback and revising content as needed.
• Following company expectations regarding confidentiality, copyright, student privacy, data security, and responsible AI use.

Specific responsibilities may vary based on the intern’s interests, experience, availability, and assigned projects.

All qualifications in this section are preferred and are not required:

• Interest in K–12 education, instructional design, curriculum development, educational technology, or e-learning.
• Teaching, student-teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, childcare, or classroom experience.
• Experience creating lesson plans, presentations, worksheets, training materials, or educational activities.
• Familiarity with K–12 curriculum standards or age-appropriate instructional practices.
• The ability to explain complex information in a clear and understandable way.
• Strong writing, grammar, editing, or proofreading skills.
• The ability to organize information in a clear and logical manner.
• Familiarity with Google Docs, Google Slides, Microsoft Word, or PowerPoint.
• Experience using Canva or other visual content-creation tools.
• Familiarity with learning management systems or online learning platforms.
• Exposure to instructional design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, iSpring, or similar platforms.
• Experience using ChatGPT, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or other generative AI platforms.
• Interest in using artificial intelligence responsibly to support education and content development.
• Basic familiarity with accessibility principles for digital learning materials.
• The ability to review content from a student’s perspective and identify areas of confusion.
• Creativity, attention to detail, organization, and openness to feedback.
• Dependability and the ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
• The ability to collaborate with others in a remote environment.

Applicants do not need experience with every tool, platform, or instructional design method listed above. Applicants without a professional instructional design background, portfolio, or previous internship experience may still be considered.

During the internship, participants may have opportunities to:

• Strengthen writing, editing, research, and content-development skills.
• Learn how to evaluate educational materials from a student’s perspective.
• Gain exposure to learning management systems and e-learning development tools.
• Explore how artificial intelligence can support instructional design and course development.
• Practice using AI tools responsibly while maintaining accuracy, originality, and human oversight.
• Receive feedback and guidance from team members.
• Build experience with project communication, collaboration, and content-review processes.
• Learn about accessibility, copyright, student privacy, confidentiality, data security, and responsible technology use.
• Develop projects or work samples that may be discussed professionally, subject to Synthara Systems’ confidentiality and intellectual-property requirements.

Participation in the internship does not guarantee future employment with Synthara Systems.

This is a remote internship. Interns are expected to:

• Maintain regular communication with their assigned supervisor or team.
• Attend required virtual meetings included in the stated internship schedule.
• Complete agreed-upon learning activities and project assignments.
• Review instructions carefully and meet established project deadlines.
• Communicate promptly when questions, challenges, or scheduling conflicts arise.
• Be receptive to feedback and willing to revise their work.
• Protect confidential company, project, and educational information.
• Use company systems, learning materials, and AI tools responsibly.
• Follow applicable project, content-development, security, privacy, and documentation procedures.
