Learning & Development Technologist

Bilingual, AI, and Digital Learning

Position Overview

Moss Utilities is seeking a tech-minded L&D Technologist to join our Learning & Development team. This entry-level role is designed for a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical graduate with a focus on Artificial Intelligence or Data Analytics.

In this position, you will leverage AI tools, data analytics, and digital learning systems to support workforce training and operational enablement at Moss Utilities. You will help create training content, analyze employee performance, administer our Learning Management System (LMS), and support technology adoption across our field teams.

You will also assist with heavy equipment simulator training, providing basic technical support during operator training sessions.

Responsibilities

Applied AI & Learning Content Creation

  • Use Generative AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, and Google LM to create training materials.
  • Convert utility blueprints, OSHA standards, and equipment manuals into study guides, flashcards, quizzes, and other learning resources.
  • Assist with internal AI knowledge tools for Moss Utilities field personnel.
  • Use basic scripting and AI tools to automate routine L&D tasks.

Learning Analytics & Skill Tracking

  • Analyze employee performance, assessment results, and training progress.
  • Process training data and create skill gap reports.
  • Identify trends and provide insights to L&D leadership.
  • Build dashboards and visualizations connecting training, safety, and productivity metrics.

AI & Field Technology Enablement

  • Serve as an AI champion for Moss Utilities field supervisors, superintendents, and employees.
  • Help non-technical employees understand and use digital tools and AI applications.
  • Administer the LMS, including user enrollment, tracking, and digital records.
  • Support technology adoption across Moss Utilities field operations.

Simulator Lab Support & Operations

  • Support setup and basic maintenance of CM Labs heavy equipment simulators.
  • Assist trainers during excavator and backhoe simulator sessions.
  • Operate vendor-provided software and training modules.
  • Record trainee results and provide basic technical support.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
  • Coursework or concentration in Artificial Intelligence or Data Analytics.
  • 0-2 years of experience; internships, academic projects, and capstone experience are welcome.
  • Programming or scripting experience for data processing.
  • Experience using Generative AI tools and prompt engineering.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with field crews and supervisors.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Preferred

  • Experience with LMS platforms or digital database systems.
  • Experience creating dashboards or data visualizations.
