Overview
ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is growing and we have an opening for an experienced Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations team in Bedford, New Hampshire. The successful candidate will work with an integrated team of transportation planners and engineers on a wide range of projects for public, private and institutional clients.
Responsibilities
  • Work within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal transportation projects
  • Conduct traffic and safety engineering analysis, including operational focused analysis
  • Provide peer review of analyses submitted to municipalities to ensure accuracy and consistency with applicable standards and local requirements
  • Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics, and demographics
  • Manage transportation engineering and planning projects, including the planning and design of intersection improvements, multimodal facilities, and transportation corridors.
  • Prepare written planning documents, technical memoranda, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
  • Develop proposals and scopes of work, track project budgets, and manage project teams

  • Familiarity with national and local transportation engineering standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD, and/or ITE guidance documents
