Job description

You will play a key role in equipping KFC restaurant teams with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities needed to deliver exceptional business results. As an Instructional Designer, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop, and evaluate learning solutions that support product launches, operational initiatives, technology implementations, and people capability programs.

This role is responsible for applying instructional design expertise to create engaging, scalable, and effective learning experiences that support business priorities and improve performance across the KFC system. The Instructional Designer manages assigned projects from needs analysis through evaluation while collaborating closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions meet both learner and business needs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Education, Communications, Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. 

Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, training, education, communications, or a related field. 
  • Experience designing and developing learning solutions across multiple modalities. 
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of ADDIE and adult learning principles. 
  • Experience with learning content development and authoring tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Acrobat), Articulate/Rise/Storyline, Brightcove, Learning Pool, Elucidat, Wellsaid Labs, Canva and content management systems.

Design & Develop Learning Solutions (65%)

  • Design and develop learning programs, tools, and resources that support product launches, operational initiatives, technology implementations, and people capability programs. 
  • Create learning solutions across multiple modalities, including eLearning, virtual instructor-led training, instructor-led training, videos, job aids, assessments, microlearning, and performance support resources. 
  • Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create engaging, learner-focused experiences that drive performance improvement. 
  • Conduct needs analysis and partner with stakeholders to identify learning opportunities and appropriate solutions. 
  • Maintain and update existing curriculum and learning resources to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and alignment with business needs.
  • Utilize learning technologies and development tools to create scalable and innovative learning solutions. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into practical, easy-to-apply learning experiences. 

Project Management & Stakeholder Partnership (20%)

  • Partner with Operations, Marketing, Technology, People & Culture, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and learning needs. 
  • Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for assigned learning initiatives. 
  • Coordinate reviews, approvals, and feedback cycles throughout the design and development process. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. 
  • Build strong working relationships with business partners and support alignment throughout project execution. 

Continuous Improvement & Learning Effectiveness (10%)

  • Evaluate learning solutions through learner feedback, operational results, and business performance indicators. 
  • Analyze data and insights to identify opportunities for improving learning effectiveness and learner engagement. 
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to learning content, tools, and processes. 
  • Stay current on instructional design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
