Job description

Role Purpose

The Training Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing employee education and training programs that align with the strategic plan of the credit union. This role ensures ongoing employee development reflects strategic priorities and delivers quality service to our members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Evaluate training needs and make recommendations for training programs through observation, management and staff discussions, employee surveys, and other relevant resources.

2. Develop and administer training programs, including classroom training, shadowing, and e-learning, for current staff and new hires.

3. Create training activities that foster interactive participation and use of current technologies.

4. Conduct workshops on new products, policies, and procedures for all staff roles.

5. Update training materials for all staff roles as needed.

6. Assist in developing and implementing procedure manuals for various operational areas.

7. Create, administer, and evaluate competency tests for all staff roles.

8. Maintain accurate employee training records.

9. Research and evaluate training methods and content to identify improvements and new opportunities.

10. Stay informed about trends and best practices in training through ongoing professional development, including reading, courses, seminars, and networking.

11. Evaluate and coordinate outsourced training programs and vendors to supplement internal offerings.

12. Contribute to the development and execution of Argent’s Annual All Staff Development Day.

13. Demonstrate proficiency with the credit union Intranet.

14. Actively participate in staff meetings to stay aware of organizational initiatives, promotions, policies, and compliance issues, and suggest improvements.

15. Pursue ongoing personal and professional development through internal and external resources.

16. Collaborate as a team member to achieve the credit union’s mission and goals.

17. Maintain a professional work environment and appearance.

18. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
