  • Update existing backend functionality to support new laboratory tests, workflows, and operational requirements.
  • Assist with database design, schema modifications, and overall database architecture.
  • Build integrations with third-party platforms and services through RESTful APIs.
  • Develop backend functionality that connects e-commerce and business systems with services such as Shopify, Klaviyo, SendGrid, Twilio, and Stripe.
  • Create and maintain middleware that facilitates the transfer, synchronization, and organization of information between internal systems and external applications.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing applications to support reliability, performance, and usability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of React and/or Next.js, along with HTML and CSS.
  • Experience developing backend applications using Python-based frameworks, such as Django or Flask.
  • Understanding of REST API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with Git and other version-control practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Working with content management platforms such as Sanity.
  • Using Docker for application development and deployment.
  • Working with CI/CD pipelines and development automation tools.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including S3, SQS, API Gateway, Lambda, or similar services.
