E-Coat Production Line Operator

1st Shift Opportunity

American Trim is seeking E-Coat Line Operators to support our heavy-truck bumper and grille coating operations.

This is a hands-on production position that involves loading and unloading parts from a slow-moving conveyor line, working with lift-assist equipment or a teammate when needed, and monitoring the coating process to help ensure finished products meet established quality requirements.

Schedule & Pay

1st Shift: 5:55 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Overtime is required as needed. Scheduled hours may flex based on operational needs.

Base Pay: $16.00 per hour

Job Summary

The E-Coat Line Operator is responsible for supporting the coating process by loading parts onto the conveyor line, unloading completed parts, monitoring process requirements and performing quality checks to ensure finished products meet American Trim and customer specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Load heavy-truck bumpers, grilles and other parts onto the conveyor line using proper lifting techniques, lift-assist equipment and/or a two-person team as required.
  • Unload finished parts from the conveyor line and handle products carefully to prevent damage.
  • Read and follow process sheets, work instructions and established operating procedures.
  • Support setup and operation of applicable E-Coat process equipment and related systems.
  • Perform required thickness readings, adhesion checks and other quality inspections according to established work instructions.
  • Record required quality and process data, including applicable SPC documentation.
  • Monitor the process and make approved adjustments to maintain product quality.
  • Communicate production, equipment and quality concerns to supervision and appropriate support personnel.
  • Follow all established safety, environmental and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, coating, production or material-handling experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a production team.
  • Ability to coordinate lifting and material-handling activities with another employee when required.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions, process requirements and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within established production schedules and rates.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and dependability.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:

  • Regularly lift, position and remove parts from a slow-moving conveyor line.
  • Use lift-assist equipment and/or work with another employee to safely handle larger or heavier bumpers and grilles.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a non-repetitive basis.
  • Stand, walk and move throughout the assigned production area for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, turn, twist, push and pull while handling parts and working around the conveyor line.
  • Perform repetitive lifting, reaching and material-handling movements.
  • Perform work requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and close visual attention.
  • Work around conveyor equipment, coating-process equipment and other industrial machinery.
  • Work with manufactured metal parts that may have sharp edges.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, varying temperatures and other conditions associated with coating operations.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye, hearing, foot and other protective equipment as required.
  • Work overtime and adjusted hours as required by operational needs.
