Job description

Develop and optimize calibrations to meet performance and timing requirements using Calibration Standard Work
Conduct calibration reviews to ensure high-quality calibrations
Organize, plan, and coordinate calibration activities with the Lead Calibrator and Diagnostic Strategist
Support identification of resource requirements for calibration development
Diagnose and correct vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies
Support resolution of vehicle, plant, durability/dyno, and customer issues
Use analytical tools to develop and verify calibrations
Develop, use, and update calibration procedures supporting increased virtualization in calibration development
Participate in controls groups and support algorithm development
Participate in development trips and related testing activities
Perform in-vehicle calibration and testing, lab/bench/analytical activities, and performance verification
Collaborate with algorithm/software and hardware engineers in cross-functional teams
Balance planned and unplanned work across multiple projects and priorities

Requirements
  • BS Engineering Degree or equivalent discipline
  • 2+ years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • Independent worker requiring little direction and highly capable of working in a team environment
  • Excellent planning and complex problem-solving skills
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis
  • Knowledge of and passion for electrification propulsion system architectures
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Engineering Degree or equivalent discipline
  • Preferred: 5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • Preferred: Controls and/or calibration experience
  • Preferred: Experience with Battery Management Systems or Battery State Estimation
  • Preferred: Experience with INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, Matlab/Simulink
  • Ability to report to Milford, MI at least three times per week
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other GM sites, test facilities, plants, joint-venture locations, and the GM Battery System Lab in Warren, MI
