CES Energy Solutions is a dynamic and growing North American oilfield services company listed on the TSX as CEU with revenue of 2.49 billion in 2025. It is one of the largest providers of production chemicals and drilling fluid systems and is focused on being the leading provider of technically advanced chemical solutions throughout the life cycle of the oilfield.


CES Energy Solutions is looking for a motivated and highly organized individual to fill the position of Junior Business Analyst. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Calgary, AB that reports directly to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions Support.


In this role, you will act as a bridge between business users and the technical team. Gathering requirements, documenting processes, maintaining essential system master data, and helping resolve day-to-day system issues. Strong communication skills, comfort working directly with end users across the organization, and responsible handling of detailed system master data are essential to your success.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide support to end users and maintain master data of the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 & Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations systems.
  • Will use existing support documentation and guidance from senior team members to troubleshoot errors, respond to questions, and clearly communicate complex scenarios to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Will maintain system master data with a high degree of precision and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Will assist in business requirement gathering, solution testing, and documentation of business process.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical practices.
  • Periodic travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Required skillset and qualifications:

  • Completed or nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree in business and/or an IT related discipline.
  • Ability to consistently follow and enforce business process rules when performing specific duties as assigned.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong troubleshooting, problem solving and, time management
  • Accounting knowledge and an understanding/exposure to related business processes and transaction cycles within a finance department.
  • Practical experience implementing process changes individually or as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable team player focused on delivering quality work product on a consistent basis.


Necessary qualifications:

  • Completed or nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree in business and/or an IT-related discipline.


Required skillset:

  • Communication: Clear and adaptable verbal and written communication across diverse audiences and situations, from routine user requests to escalations involving multiple stakeholders. Skilled at listening, asking clarifying questions, adjusting level of detail to the audience, and keeping others informed throughout evolving scenarios.
  • Master data management: Precise, consistent handling of master data across diverse record types and business areas. From routine updates to unique changes with significant impact. Skilled at validating inputs, spotting discrepancies early, and maintaining accuracy.
  • Learning mindset: Genuine curiosity about how the business and its systems operate, paired with a commitment to building knowledge quickly. Receptive to coaching, and quick to apply what's learned to the next request.
  • Software proficiency: Knowledge of the Microsoft suite, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Any exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and/or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 would be a great asset to the role. The ability to pick up unfamiliar programs quickly and adapt as new tools are introduced.
  • Business process: Familiarity with standard business structures, accounting cycles, and the software testing cycle is a strong asset in this position.
