Logistics Specialist — Own project freight from vendor to site, and give our teams total visibility into where it is

Seven Seas Water Group is looking for a Logistics Specialist to take financial and physical ownership of project freight, from the moment it leaves a vendor's dock to the moment it lands on site. You'll plan routes, negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and brokers, manage budgets and claims, and run receiving and warehousing across our locations, all while keeping Project Managers current on what's moving, in what condition, and at what cost. This role combines hands-on execution with real technical depth in international freight: HTS codes, tariff exposure, hazmat protocols, and customs documentation. It's a warehouse/office-based role, Monday through Friday, with regular time on the warehouse floor and periodic travel to suppliers, ports, and project sites.

What you'll own

 You'll own shipments end to end, from vendor to site, planning routes, pulling spot quotes, and managing budgets and the formal freight approval process to hit project timelines. You'll negotiate freight contracts, lane rates, and carrier agreements directly with brokers and forwarders, reconcile invoices against POs and contract rates, and manage freight claims (damage, loss, delay, demurrage) end to end with carriers and insurers.

On the international and warehouse side, you'll coordinate import and export clearance and customs documentation (HTS codes, country of origin, Incoterms, commercial invoices, bills of lading), handle hazmat and oversized shipments, and oversee receiving, staging, and inventory accuracy across our warehouse locations. You'll keep Project Managers informed with real-time shipment tracking, and report out the KPIs, cost versus budget, on-time delivery, claims, dwell time, that show how logistics is performing.

 What you bring

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of hands-on logistics experience, including international freight across air, ocean, and ground modes
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, HTS classification, country of origin, and customs documentation
• Experience negotiating freight contracts and spot rates, and qualifying or onboarding freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers
• Experience managing freight claims, including damage, loss, delay, and demurrage or detention disputes
• Experience coordinating receiving, warehousing, and material staging in a warehouse environment, ideally across multiple locations
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency reconciling estimates, POs, and contract rates against carrier invoices, along with working knowledge of an ERP system (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus)
• Familiarity with hazardous materials classification, packaging, and documentation requirements

A background in industrial construction, utilities, energy, or EPC project environments is a plus, as is experience with a formal Delegation of Authority approval process or certifications like CSCP, CLTD, IATA/DGR, or a Customs Broker license. None of these are required to apply.
