Job description

Job Description: DXI Construction is a turn-key site contractor founded in Harford County, Maryland, with expertise in pre-construction services, clearing, excavation, underground utilities, paving, stormwater management, soil stabilization and more. With over 50 years of experience, DXI has grown and evolved into one of the premiere site preparation construction companies located within the Middle Atlantic region, servicing Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
DXI Construction uses the latest in construction technologies, from laser grade GPS equipment to GPS site surveying, to provide all phases of site development services that are required by modern, residential, commercial, industrial and municipal users. We are experienced with the most complex ground conditions and take pride in our community as we continue Building the Future from the Ground Up.
Basic Description: The purpose of this position is to plan, direct, control, coordinate manpower and equipment, and assets under their supervision to complete projects assigned to them and meet targeted goals for profitability.
Manage the use of project control tools to report daily progress status, and compile information for project status reports to track and communicate progress of work for projects as assigned.
Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking expenses, and minimizing risk on the project.
Ensure that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule
Manage subcontractors/suppliers
Thoroughly reviewing contract and specifications
Reviewing and verifying accuracy of daily reports using Heavy Job
Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to resolve project challenges
Assisting with monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing
Set up project documentation systems and cost controls
Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
Preparing or reviewing various daily, weekly, and monthly project reports
Work closely with the project's Superintendent to schedule, manage resources, and evaluate the project budget.
Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings.
Oversees and mentors direct reporting from Project Engineers and Superintendents
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager in Heavy/Civil Construction
A college degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all project documents. (i.e. Construction drawings, specs, submittals, RFI's, contracts, etc.)
Experience in HCSS is a plus
Demonstrated ability to deliver a successful completed project
Proficient in communication skills - written & oral
Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Microsoft Projects
Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Job Type: Full-time
