Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greets customers when they enter the store
  • Assists and sells to prospective customers and explains type of products offered.
  • Estimates quantity of merchandise needed. Demonstrates use of merchandise when possible.
  • Researches products available for purchase based upon the customers' needs.
  • Assists customers with proper selection of items.
  • Suggests additional products to customer where appropriate.
  • Secures orders and keys data into computer and informs customer of delivery date when item is not in stock.
  • Evaluates returns brought into the retail facility to make sure they meet return criteria.
  • Maintains a clean work area at all times including cleaning shelves, counters, and displays.
  • Arranges store displays and restocks product when necessary including assisting with setting up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters or display cases to promote sales
  • Quotes prices and tries to persuade customer to buy.
  • Performs follow-up on special orders, drop ships, pricing, etc.
  • Interacts and communicates with other departments, team leaders and supervisors.
  • Records names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects solicited.
  • Receives call and email messages from prospective customers and explains type of products offered.
  • Provides basic troubleshooting as applicable to company products.
  • Secures orders and keys data into computer, and informs customer of delivery date.
  • Thanks customers for their business.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Amateur Radio license required. The qualified candidate should possess a strong amateur radio background and be active on the air.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Amateur radio license required. General or higher class (preferred)
