DVC Marketing & Sales Strategy is a vibrant, fast-moving team that drives both short- and long-term business goals that include growing consumer demand, driving sales and rental bookings, strengthening our brand differentiation, and identifying additional commercial value streams. The team leads Marketing and Sales go-to-market strategies working closely with partners in adjacent functions like Advertising, Media Planning & Buying and Research, as well as partners in other functions like Public Relations, Operations, Finance, Revenue Management, Port Strategy, Entertainment, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

As the Senior Manager, Marketing & Sales Strategy, you will be responsible for leading the development of marketing and sales strategies informed by data, business performance, and consumer insights to deliver business goals. More specifically, this individual will work closely with the Sales organization in driving qualified in-market leads from our DVC destinations on the West Coast (including Disneyland and Aulani), play a key role in launching a new business model and will be a catalyst for targeting new audiences to feed the aggressive business growth. Performing the role with excellence includes leading a direct report and multi-disciplinary partners across the full marketing mix, managing a high volume of complex programs, partnering with leadership at all levels within DLR, Aulani, DVC and DSE, and demonstrating business savvy.

The Senior Manager, Marketing & Strategy position reports to the Director, Marketing & Sales Strategy, DVC & Aulani. This on-site position is located in Anaheim, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion development of innovative ways to generate qualified leads and sales-driving solutions, especially in DVC's West Coast destinations, that have strong consumer connection/benefit and align with growth strategies.
  • Target new consumer audiences, and create strategic plans that will generate sales, including business/brand benefits.
  • Analyze business performance and trends, and create marketing plans that support planned net written sales growth.
  • Be the main liaison between the DLR Marketing Strategy team and the DVC Marketing Strategy team, proactively identifying mutually beneficial opportunities to drive business results.
  • Champion development of integrated marketing communication plans by leading cross discipline teams - with an audience engagement focus.
  • Balance a bias-for-action with thoughtful planning to ensure programs are commercially viable and create the highest value.
  • Establish close partnerships with all other areas at DVC, Finance, Revenue Management, and Consumer Insights.
  • Proactively identify partnership opportunities with Corporate Alliance and Franchise teams to further push DVC priorities and drive overall awareness for the brand.
  • Engage and inspire partners across the DVC destinations to activate new, overlay existing, and/or curate and prioritize activations and experiences to maximize number of qualified leads, representation, and amplification.
  • Drive substantive growth from underpenetrated consumer segments through insight-driven marketing and communications planning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years in relevant marketing experience, strategic planning or commercial strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to look at the big picture from a consumer perspective.
  • Proven critical thinking skills, a foundation to developing strategies and strategic planning.
  • Experience in project management and driving ideas into action.
  • Skilled at understanding performance metrics to assess & optimize programs.
  • Skilled at building effective partner relationships and influencing peer partners/leaders.
  • Proven leadership abilities in motivating, directing, and coaching teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus superior professionalism.
  • Advanced presentation skills, with a proven track record of presenting to executives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous work experience in brand management, marketing strategy, distribution channel or sales strategy.
  • Previous experience working in sales-driven organizations.
  • Minimum 3 years management/supervisory experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • MBA or equivalent.
The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $153,200.00 to $205,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
