Job Title: Stone Fabrication TechnicianJob Description

The Stone Fabrication Technician supports the production and installation of stone countertops by operating fabrication equipment, handling stone slabs safely, and performing precise cutting, polishing, and assembly tasks. This role works closely with a team in a loud, wet machine shop environment to ensure high-quality finished products that meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in loading stone slabs onto the CNC saw and polishing machines in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Remove stone materials from the saw and polishing machines after processing and stage them for the next production steps.
  • Perform dry cutting of stone using appropriate hand tools when necessary, following safety and dust control procedures.
  • Polish stone surfaces using hand polishing equipment to achieve the required finish and quality standards.
  • Construct stone countertops from cut pieces using epoxy and other approved materials to ensure strong, accurate assemblies.
  • Assist in the installation of stone countertops at job sites as needed, including handling, fitting, and securing materials.
  • Operate a forklift to move stone slabs and other materials safely within the shop and yard areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe lifting practices, and adherence to dust control requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to coordinate workflow, meet production schedules, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support field service and installation activities by reading and interpreting basic construction documents and measurements when required.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with stone fabrication or closely related construction or fabrication work.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and follow basic construction or blueprint information related to countertop layouts and measurements.
  • Forklift certification or the ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing stone materials.
  • Capability to assist with field service and installation tasks, including handling materials and using basic installation tools.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads as part of a team.
  • Ability to maneuver large pieces of stone on and off tables and equipment safely.
  • Ability to wear a half-face respirator and pass a respirator physical in accordance with safety requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 certification or strong knowledge of basic safety practices in a construction or fabrication environment.
  • Experience working with granite or other natural and engineered stone materials.
  • Experience in construction, field service, or installation environments.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is preferred and considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading or basic layout interpretation for fabrication and installation.
  • Comfort working in a production environment with loud machinery and wet conditions.
  • Willingness to work a Monday–Friday day shift schedule with occasional overtime on Saturdays as needed.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, eye protection, appropriate footwear, and a half-face respirator, is required and must be worn as directed. The role involves frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of large stone pieces, as well as close coordination with team members to move materials safely throughout the facility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
