Chapter 74 Early Education & Care Instructor
B.M.C. Durfee High School is seeking a qualified and student-focused Early Education & Care (EEC) Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education Department. The successful candidate will provide classroom and hands-on instruction to high school students enrolled in our state-approved Chapter 74 Early Education & Care program.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Massachusetts Chapter 74 Vocational Technical Teacher License in Early Education & Care or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Minimum of five years of recent industry experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Preferred:
  • Massachusetts Early Education & Care (EEC) Lead Teacher Certification in:
    • Infant/Toddler
    • Preschool
  • Experience supervising student teachers, interns, or work-based learning experiences.
  • Experience working with high school students in a Career and Technical Education setting.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Massachusetts Chapter 74 frameworks.
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for careers and post-secondary opportunities in Early Childhood Education.
  • Supervise students in classroom, laboratory, and work-based learning environments.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-relevant learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and industry partners to support student success.
  • Participate in advisory committee activities, professional development, SkillsUSA and Chapter 74 program requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CTE Director to support the operation, growth, and success of the Early Education & Care program and the Career & Technical Education Department.
