POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Food Service Worker

POSITION: Food Service Worker
LOCATION:  Various Locations
JOB SUMMARY:
The School Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of food in a school cafeteria. This position ensures that all meals meet nutritional guidelines and are served in a timely and sanitary manner. The worker also assists with cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and cafeteria facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent;
  2. Previous experience in food service, particularly in a school setting, is preferred but not required;
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  
  1. Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks;
  2. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
  3. Ability to withstand exposure to heat, steam, and noise;
  4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
     
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1.  Must complete the O.N.E. Course within the first year of employment;
  2. Maintains an acceptable level of personal hygiene;
  3. Attends in-service training as provided by the CNS Department;
  4. Follows recipes and instructions accurately;

REPORTS TO:  Director of School Nutrition
SALARY RANGE:  Competitive salary and excellent benefits package, in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide
