Job Title: Director of Procurement
Compensation: $165,000 - $225,000 Annual Salary
The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About the Role:
As the Director of Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to support DTF's rapid expansion into new markets. This leadership position requires a visionary thinker with a proven ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure the highest standards of quality and service. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of categories, managing a spend of over $100M, while leading a team of managers and category experts. Your expertise in negotiation, risk management, and strategic planning will be critical in delivering long-term value and supporting the company's growth objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement 3-5 year sourcing strategies that align with DTF's growth plans, incorporating risk management, capacity planning, and evolving business needs.
- Supplier Partnerships: Identify, evaluate, and onboard third-party suppliers, ensuring alignment with DTF's quality, service, and ethical standards.
- Category Management: Revamping and standardizing procurement team member ownership across all categories, including fresh/frozen foods, paper/disposables, dry goods, chemicals, beverages, and smallwares (managing over 1,200 SKUs). Responsible for inbound service levels to our 3P distributors.
- Cost Optimization: Lead negotiations and contract management to establish competitive pricing programs while maintaining control over budgets and in-store COGS. Explore waste reduction and efficiencies through data and analytics.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure suppliers adhere to product specifications and food safety requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with all other department leaders and internal manufacturing facilities to identify synergies, drive sourcing efficiencies, and help lead R&D projects. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to drive business improvements.
- Team Development: Foster a culture of growth and excellence by mentoring, coaching, and developing your team to achieve their full potential.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure DTF remains competitive and compliant in the foodservice supply chain landscape.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of Foodservice experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management within the food service or hospitality industry
- Minimum 7 years of leadership or function head experience with direct reports
- Strong presentation skills
- Computer knowledge required (Microsoft Office)
- Strong talent in negotiations, networking, and relationship building
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and strategize effectively

Preferred Requirements:
- Having experience managing multiple categories (e.g. protein, dry, frozen, etc.)
- Have experience managing profit and loss, managing budgets and expenses.
